The AstroMaster 130EQ is an excellent choice for getting started in astronomy. With its 650 mm focal length and 130 mm diameter, you can observe both the solar system and deep-sky objects equally well. The AstroMaster 130 mm allows for a first approach to deep-sky observation. However, for true deep-sky enthusiasts, it is preferable to opt for an instrument with a larger diameter. We recommend a minimum diameter of 150 mm to optimize your deep-sky observations. The AstroMaster mount comes with two slow-motion cables that allow you to make fine adjustments to the pointing in both axes: Right Ascension (RA) and Declination (DEC). It is possible to motorize the AstroMaster 130 telescope by adding a single-axis motor in RA.
